Can't find unicode strings
Can't find unicode strings
Hello.
I faced a strange problem.
The editor can not find in a Find/Replace action any text in unicode mode.
In Ansi mode everything is okay.
Due to my native language (Greek) the unicode mode in programs is critical.
What is wrong?
Regards
Thanos

I tested the editor in 6 different computers.
Each of them has different operating system, language etc. and i faced the same problem in all of them.

Re: Can't find unicode strings
In version 4.5 I can search and find Greek characters but only in the file format is encoding as Plain Text.
If it is encoding as UTF-8 I can't search Greek characters
Any idea?

Re: Can't find unicode strings
I can confirm this when testing with the string "Ἀναξίμανδρος".
Re: Can't find unicode strings
my IDE cannot display the first letter of that word (the 'find' dialog's input field can't display unicode at all apparently). my browser can display the word correctly with encoding set to utf-8.
Re: Can't find unicode strings
The IDE itself isn't unicode, that's planned to migrate it somewhen, but it's not high priority.

Not personally, no.thanos wrote:Do you really know this pre-Socratic Greek philosopher?

I knew his name transcribed into English and looked up the greek spelling on Wikipedia.
