Very nicely done. Thank you. I hadn't yet encountered or if so had not remembered seeing user pane in any of the OSX docs I read. I'll need to delve deeper but now I have a clue.

I suspect you have a typo in the first paragraph, fourth sentence: "The situation is different for Windows and OSX." Should it read, 'Linux and OSX'?

I'll try to find it again. I lost a network HDD that had a lot of my notes and this may have been among them. Or, I use swappable HDDs for switching quickly between several flavors of Linux and those have been in storage since my hospitalization back in February. I probably bookmarked it in Firefox on one or more of those (unless it happened to be the one currently in that PC which was reformatted and used for Windows 7). I'll try to get my grandson to visit the storage location and dig out the swappable HDDs.

You might also search my posts to the Linux forum - I think I posted it there at the time I found it.

BTW, there's a Firefox Add-On specifically to search the PB forums - I found it by accident - it works better than the built-in search functions.
