The History Of Nintendo, Vol.1

Post by thepastrycook »

Pix'n Love Publishing was founded in 2007 by three young Frenchmen, each very passionate about the history of video games. Their goal is to offer gamers, as well as anybody curious about the subject, a selection of reliable books about their passion: video gaming and its history. :)

The biggest problem if it comes to video game history is that there are 2 histories that should be just one. What i mean is that mostly it's only seen from the console gaming perspective and computer games are totaly ignored or the other way around. But it's very rare that someone takes both console games and computer games into account if it comes to the history of video games.

And as much corporate stupidity as Xerox! And IBM!!! :D and My Father and Stepfather as well!!!

Nintendo did not think their game console would ssell in the USA for YEARS!!! and IBM thought no one would ever be interessted in a personal computer and Xerox thought a window / Mouse based OS was silly and limited to a few applications... As for Pops and Fred (Father and Stepfather) they worked with the two guys that founded Compaq... Those dudes came to the house to ask them to join and help them create a portable computer... I said THIS IS GREAT!!! You can work from the field or wherever you are... Pops and Fred said Nope... too risky and no one iss ging to want a portable computer... So we didn't pitch in and fund their startup or help them engineer the unit.

Sigh...
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

Ralph, no offense is meant to you, but after a boner move like that by Pops and Fred, when they passed away I would have had a phallus shaped tombstone made for each of them and the inscription would have detailed the mistake they made.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

Nintendo will always be the king of video game companies, but I was very disappointed by the Wii. They make huge amounts of money to move more towards the general population, but now appears very few games on DS or Wii for serious gamers. Wii is a pleasure when others are there to play with you, but there are good games to play solo on it.

Some may find this of interest.
Mr. Iwata certainly seemed to be a very intelligent and determined person.
