PureBasic 4.40 thoughts

Post by kake26 »

Hi all,

I just wanted to drop a note here to simply say PureBasic 4.40 hit the mark. I like how uniform it is across OSX, Linux and Windows. I think 4.40 hit that sweet spot finally. I'm jumping back into writing and upgrading my old applications as a result. PureBasic has evolved and matured considerably I'd say and that is making a difference. I mean I hate writing different versions of apps for WIndows, Linux and OS X since I use all three. I'm so stocked that now a vast majority of all the functionality is working on all platforms. Now the only direction I see PureBasic is going is up and continuing that curve of improvement I've seen all these years. I must say Fred has done a bang up job and just needs to keep at it. Its because PureBasic reaching this level of maturity and true crossplatformness that I can basically toss out any other language I've been using.

Purebasic just keeps getting better, and 4.4 was a huge improvement. It's a very underappreciated language considering what it can do. Even thought I bought it a couple years back when it had a few minor problems, it was money well spent.

Keep up the good work Fred, and keep the updates rolling.

Yes, I would only love they stop for a while to fix all the existing bugs before moving further... but I understand not all share my opinion.

Anyway the progresses are undeniable and I'm grateful to the team :)
