I was not that much impresed with _FLCL_ myself, it's rather experimental, I think. If I recall correctly _Excel Saga_ was in the same style by the same artists.
_Evangelion_ was kind of okayish, but in my humble opinion not as good as many people say. _Rahxephon_ pretty much the same thing, promising, but always ending up in the 'turn into gods / let's destroy the world' complex.
It's a rather recurring theme, thake for example _Geneshaft_ which is an early blend of CGI and classic drawing, and _Scryed_... hmmm... I seem to have seen _Scryed_ as well, but it didn't leave much of an impression, because I cannot recall how it ends
_Ergo Proxy_ was pretty good though, and even _Maetal Symphony_ (hope I got that right) gives its own twist (though the drawing takes some getting used to).
Some more suggestions, so people stay busy... (Fred, do not read this, you should be busy coding!)
For the ladies

there's always _Escaflowne_ which is pretty good if you don't mind its shippy character.
I liked _Armitage III_ (there are three movies / series).
Pretty brutal is _Now and then, here and there_ which looks kiddy but isn't. Pretty good though.
I could also mention the somewhat dated _Blue Seed_ and pretty predicatable _Blue Gender_... but I won't. Oh. I did

I wasn't impressed with either.
If you're into 'cat eared girls' and suffer from ADHD you may want to look at _Hyper Police_. That, or _SpongeBob SquarePants_
