PB4.4 compatibility with SnowLeopard

Post by StPaul »

New to Mac & PureBasic
Configuration is iMac10.1 IntelCore2 Due with Snow Leopard 10.6.2 System is new so default settings on computer should be in place. IDE does not allow me to continue typing command after the list of "key words" pops up. Arrow keys do not toggle through key words. Tab does insert top command.

Simple programs indicate they are compiling and running completely on the Mac. I tried downloading PB & running it on my old Windows PC & it works as expected. But not on the Mac.

Is anyone running PB on hardware & OS same as mine?
Is PB 4.4 working for you?
Am I missing something very obvious I need to do?

Thanking you in advance for suggestions,
StPaul

I am not using Snow Leopard but I have the same problem using just Leopard and I have to go into PureBasic preferences and un-check (in Editor/AutoComplete) the line 'Automatically popup AutoComplete for Structure items'. When this popup happens I cannot continue to type till I uncheck that preference. I've also had the item re-check itself.

This auto-complete item may not be the one giving you the problems so you might try un-checking other options to try to get it to work. There are other threads about Snow Leopard and it appears that pb does work with it. You might also note that some functions do not work (yet) on the Mac that do work in Windows.

My configuration is similar (iMac 10.1 with Snow Leopard 10.6.2).
I also turned off auto-complete but I often do so also in other programming environments.
PB works for me but I miss the form designer that comes with the windows version.

I thank you both for your kind responses. And yes, they have addressed my issues. I read somewhere that the Purebasic folks were good. I am finding it to be that way.
Thanks
