For animations MNG is much superior to GIF, but unfortunately not much used.

Why? This is still a serious feature request. I honestly can't fathom why the team is so anti-GIF.
Also, we're not "anti-GIF". You make it sound like we have this image decoder ready somewhere but we are keeping it away from you because we hate the gif format so much. Newsflash: Features don't exist by default. Somebody has to do the work and implement them, and implementing a complete image decoder is much more work than you think. Just because our priorities lie elsewhere at the moment does not make us "anti-GIF".

A subject can be serious and to be talking with a little bit of humorHere is an idea: If you want To come across As serious, maybe your thread should Not decent into craziness on its first page

You are the moderator and i respect you....but if you go in this way and be so rigourous...my question is for FRED originally.
I'm sure that FRED don't answer like that...or then, i have not more understand FRED, that is language

I think you are a little bit too aggressive, but it's only my opinion :roll:
Obviously you are one of the best, but even the best can make error of judgment and priority.
And it's sometime good to listen the little people :roll:
I understand it's not your priority....and it's very hard to code this, but why you never say that before ???
Why say, i can't do this, because it's copyrighted ??? :roll:
And now it's not copyrighted say it's finish...too late
BMP is also an old format.....
I'm sure you have coded several things more hard that GIF :roll:
Apparently, it's not your priority...but it's the priority of numerous of your clients.
And in France we have a sentence...."The client is the king"
Excuse me, sincerely, for the other thread, i don't know it's forbiden to vote to this subject

So it's a pity to see this LOCKED reaction ...locked like my thread of vote

What commands would be needed for this? Remember the existing commandset assumes each image has only one image.

I wondered about this, too. How about:
In future, the SaveImageSequence() command could be used for other image sequence formats (eg. MNG, APNG) or video formats (AVI).
Code: Select all
Dim imgsequence.i(50) ; now save all the images into this array
fps = 25
loop.b = #True
SaveImageSequence(imgsequence(),fps,#PB_ImagePlugin_GIF,loop)

By the way, does anyone know what happened to LocalMotion's Native GIF Encoder? I was really looking forward to that, and he seemed to be on top of it in May.

TROND and SEYMOUR CLUFLEY
Perhaps with your great knowledge you can create a code who can manage the GIF ???
Because, i believe the TEAM don't move his little finger about including GIF
And like this....if you win...you are the heroes of all this millions of little poor GIF, who can't enter in the great PureBasic language :roll:
Perhaps also somebody with great knowledge read this, and can do something for all this persona and save it of the "dead"
See his eyes....and dare say with strong voice : " NO...i don't want save it !!!!"

Re: FRED.... The GIF format, is finally FREEWARE :-)
It's so unfair to move this topic off !
I vote for GIF inclusion into PureBasic too !
Let me laught about mng, yes it's better format but SO UNUSED by software since so long, probably because of flash, but flash is not free... !
Even if GIF is not perfect, limited to 256col, and old. It still uses and fun !
So ? GIF should be decode by PB, especially because it's free now !
GiF will survive until a new good simple format will be decode and use by IE, Chrome, Firefox, opera, Safari.... and that will NOT append tomorrow !

Large fonts don't make this any more likely to happen, trust me.
