keyboard issue?

Post by Nituvious »

Hello everyone, I am having a problem with with my keyboard. When I type 'k' the computer sends the letter k and then acts as if I have also pressed enter. The whole bottom row seems to be unresponsive, except b and n. Now when I hit \ I get either \\ or \#. Both shift keys type I and space sometimes stops after the 5th space or if I type a sentence, for example it may look like this. ''The, red, car, does, not, run.''.

Anyone have any ideas?
I use a laptop, it worked fine last night.k

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I am using the On-screen keyboard.
One more thing, hitting enter will add a k and then act like enter. Just like how pressing k acts.

Is this problem occurring only in a program you wrote in PureBasic, or a problem with your PC in general?
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

sounds like a hardware problem with your keyboard.
is your laptop still under guarantee?
save all your data and exchange it.
oh... and have a nice day.

Hi
you said you are using On-screen keyboard right?
1- close the on-screen keyboard prog.
2- open notepad and use the laptop keyboard (the problems still exist ?)
3- if no it is software problem scan your laptop for viruses
4- recover your operating system

if the problems still exist do as Kaeru said

good luck

@Nituvious Hi
Sorry bad luck
See any technician to pull out the keyboard ribbon
Then use one of those USB keyboards available in the market
I hope it is only a keyboard problem

Can you boot from any clean dos floppy and see if the problem still there before that?

Again good luck

Hello, I went out and bought a usb keyboard. It feels good to not have to use that stinkin' On-Screen Keyboard!
This computer doesn't have a floppy drive, so all I can do is boot from a disk which I already tried.

Thank you guys for the help. I priced laptop keyboards and decided a $7 usb keyboard is better since I don't want to spend to much money on this thing and really don't take it off the desk anyway!
