Retrieving network access and type

In Vista (and Windows 7) - in the Network and Sharing Center (in control panel) the type of access for the network is shown to the right of the word 'Access' and above that the type of network is shown (either public - private - or domain. Also when you install Vista or Windows 7 it asks you what type of network it is your trying to establish

Anyone know of a way to programatically get these in some way?
