I thought the water simulation was very nice, and I liked the reflection and refraction and the skeletal animation.

I don't understand this? You mean that PB will not be able to use Ogre as in the youtube video?

PB updated the engine to the latest version, but PB "may" have not updated the commands to take advantage of the features in the new version of Ogre.

The thread title threw me a little, "PB 4.4beta has OGRE 1.6.3!!!" then the youtube video, and its 5 AM, so I just initially assumed that PB 4.4beta would also have the capabilitites shown in the youtube video. Need more coffee...

It may or may not. I haven't looked. PB does usually tend to lag behind somewhat when it comes to Ogre feature implementation.
Not exactly a bad thing as it gives the Ogre folks time to get the bugs out of those new features before Fred implements them in PB
