Version 4.40b1 IDE error

Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Version 4.40b1 IDE error

Post by blueb »

I cannot play with my new version of PureBasic 4.40b1

Here's the error message:
------An Error has been detected in the IDE!
------Error: Invalid memory access

It loads the new IDE, displays the above error and waits for an 'OK', and then dumps me.

I've renamed my existing PureBasic folder to assure no conficts and have installed the beta in: C:\PureBasic

I've used the control panel to "uninstall" the beta, re-downloaded the beta, tried again to no avail.

I'm using Vista Ultimate 9 Service Pack 2 with 'User Account Control' off.
I've double checked to make sure I downloaded the X86 version of PB and not the 64-bit version.

Any ideas?

Try to delete the PureBasic folder in your Appdata folder (on Vista under Roaming I think). But back it up first in case you wanna keep your custom settings.
I like logic, hence I dislike humans but love computers.

Found it!

I forgot about these strange folders that programs sometimes use to store all kinds of settings. Curses Vista!

Thanks Joakim... I owe you one.

If you kept the faulty files, post them in the bug forum, because the IDE shouldn't crash just because of old preference files. (My opinion.)
