3d engine mac

Post by WarHampster »

I ran some 3d examples on my x86 mac and they seemed to run differently than on my PC... for example on the sky dome example the clouds were the wrong color. Does the 3d engine work correctly on mac?

That really doesn't answer the guestion :?

If it is one of the crappy Intel video chips then there is a good chance it does not fully support everything in OpenGL via hardware and is resorting to software emulation.

System profiler says that it's a Intel GMA 950, so you're probably right.

I'm having more problems... the 3d examples run when I click the Compile and Run option, but when I make an executable and run it it says that the 3d engine cannot be initialized, even when I put the compiled app in the same folder as the source (where the compile and run temp program was running out of).

I don't have a Mac, so can't help too much, but is the engine in a location where the compiled program can find it?

Yeah, engine3d.dylib is in the compilers folder... I tried putting it in the same folder as the compiled app and even inside the compiled app, but it still doesn't work. It's strange, because when you do a Compile and Run it creates a temporary executable in the same directory as the source code and then runs it, which works for me, but when I put the app generated from Create Executable in the same directory as the source and run it I get the error message.

Hopefully, somebody with a Mac and PB will jump in to help, but I wouldn't hold my breath. They seem very anti-newcomers around here.

Meh. If I can solve these problems then I'll be able to use PB, and will do so extensively, so then I won't be a newcomer!

So help please :P

At least nobody has told you RTFM or called you lazy or cursed at you for not choosing a title for your thread that they approved of like they were doing to another newcomer a couple of weeks ago.
