Still problems with the website?

Post by Mistrel »

http://purebasic.com doesn't work but http://www.purebasic.com does. Both of these worked in the past.

Maybe they've decided to use some qualifier codes themselves.

I've just (independently) discovered this problem for myself today, and became very worried that the creators of my favourite programming language might've gone out of business :?

I came here today for the first time in ages, discovered this thread, and am glad all is well :D

There still may be problems. An e-mail I wrote to support@purebasic.com bounced. Fortunately I finally solved my problem so it doesn't matter other than that there appears to be no way to contact the PureBasic team except by these forums.

Not sure what the actual problem was/is, the first link points me to the french PureBasic website and the latter to the english PureBasic website. To contact PureBasic team you could always check out the IRC channel. Usually they are there.

http://purebasic.com leads to the French site, that is not good (people might get confused), this is also the domain people get when googling for PB.

Not really. I just type "purebasic", then hit control-Enter, that prepends "www." and appends ".com" so I end up with "www.purebasic.com"

Current issues aside, the forums have been quite stable for a couple of years. I bought PB six years ago, and during this stretch of time using the forums was a nightmare at times. There were times I think poor Fred had to spend more time working on the forums than working on PB

I just wish Fred & Co. could get the two domains to redirect properly.
I constantly end up logging in with one domain (.com) but redirected to .fr so I need to go back to .com unless I want to re-login withe the .fr and thus loose the "read posts" state, as logging in again will effectively log you out again.

The .fr is correct, you should use that and you won't have problems.
