Hi together,

my favourite editor for win is: PSPad
http://www.pspad.com/

I like Stellarium
http://www.stellarium.org/

I work with EAGLE, the free version is enough for 100x80mm PCBs with 2 layers
http://www.cadsoftusa.com/freeware.htm
It is available for win, linux and mac.

And here are some small pieces from me:

A Sharp MZ-700 emulator. The fastest you can get.
Disadvantage: It only works on Win98 fullscreen DOS-Box or on a
DOS boot disk. (I made to many direct hardware access especially to the VGA card)
http://www.sharpmz.org/bkkemu.htm
I try to use PB for it, but it is very very slow :(

A small SNMP tool the SNMPInspector
http://www.freeware.de/english/snmp-ins ... 31357.html
I also try to convert it to PB to get rid of the additional dlls

Best regards,

Bernd

I fully forgot to add that. Yeah, i worked with that during 4 years.
Great and simple PCB designer in my opinion, even i used the circuit designer more than de PCB designer.

Revo Uninstaller

Freeware.
Removes files, folders and registry keys that are left over with a standard uninstall.
For me is the best uninstaller.

Yeah, Revo Uninstaller is great. I purchased a license for Your Uninstaller about 3 years ago, but after I found Revo I haven't used anything else. It works great with Windows 7 too ;)

Good antivirus,
since every installable program can truthfully considered a virus itself. 8)
EDIT: Of course, I think this a very correct "computer virus" definition:
Program which do one or more actions that you don't know what are at some moment, but when you know it, those are undesirable for you (for example fill the windows registry with rubbish).

Another tool to manage CD/DVD and its images:

It seems a quite complete and powerful tool.

3D Rad is now FREEEEEE!!!! :P :P :P (No, I'm not talking about the free-demo version, I'm talking about the professional version, yep! It's totally free!!!)
http://3drad.com/

3D RAD - Free 3D Game Maker: Learn How To Make a 3D Game FAST !
For Windows® Vista/XP

With 3D RAD - the hottest free 3d game maker available - you can bring life to your 3d models
and learn how to make a 3d game in a fraction of the time it would take with other tools

Features :

Physics in a box

You can enable collision detection and realistic physics for your 3d models by simply importing them to your 3D Rad project (no coding!). These 'bodies' can then be combined visually with working joints, wheels, springs, forces and even airfoils, to create any sort of system (cars, aircraft, ragdolls, machines)

Quality rendering

To make setting up eye-catching scenes easier, 3D Rad comes with unified shaders designed to integrate smoothly, pre-made natural environment elements, a snap-together road system and many useful resources provided by the community.

Artificial Intelligence

Adding CPU controlled cars to your project is as easy as 'plugging' a special object to your virtual cars! Simple character A.I. can be achieved by visually combining objects. For more complex artificial intelligence behaviors you have powerful script functions allowing you, for instance, to scan an area for obstacles, test meshes for visibility and so on.

Network, Multiplayer

3D Rad includes sample projects demonstrating how to render, in real-time, on a remotely connected PC, a simulation processed on the local machine, how to exchange textual strings between connected computers and how to download artwork from a remote server to update the 3d world, run-time.

Sound Effects, Music

Adding high-quality audio effects to your projects is straightforward. Sound files in .wav or .ogg format can be either used as 3d sound emitters in virtual space or as 'global' stereo sounds typically used for background music and interface sfx. Read more >>

Your 3d games in a webpage!

Compile projects to a format that can be embedded into a webpage at your website! Read more >>

Better download now before they change their mind, it's only a 38 Megabyte download.

You already listed most all my favorites including:
irfanview, izArc, WinSCP, PuTTY, CDburnXP to name very few...
and my all time favorite free software source - nonags

Here's a few favorite freebies I did not see here:

Not so plain "Plain text editor":
http://www.editpadlite.com/

"FTP server and client" (sftp capable):
http://www.eftp.org

Windows based not quite "vi editor" and more:
http://www.winvi.de/en/

"Html editor"
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/

And finally this one that I am still learning and evaluating:
"PHP Webpage creation software":

Maybe you ran into this site before?
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

Just like it sounds. On rare days they somehow cut a deal to give you "pay for license" software for free. I just found the site so don't know much about it. Get over there within the next 23 hours and you can get a TV epsiode downloader and converter free -- "they claim" it has a $40 price tag on it. Most of the free day giveaways seem to be games.

Good deal or not, this site does have a huge download selection including lots and lots of freeware.

[EDIT] Ooops... I see now 'dna' already mentioned this website a few posts earlier. I figure I'm still safe though since my post was also intended to let people know about the 'TV episode downloader' (a limited freeware offer :-)

Just don't contact the author, he's the most arrogant and rude son-of-a-bitch I've ever encountered! It's no wonder he doesn't put his real name in the app. If you check the ImgBurn forums, you'll see he fights and deletes posts from his users on a regular basis (including myself). A real ego-maniac, as far as I'm concerned. I asked a simple question once and instead of the helpful replies that you get here, he basically called me a moron and that I'm too stupid to use his app and should use Nero instead! Wow!
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
