99 Seconds

Post by Moskito »

Hello

I started working on my little project in February this year. Some days later the first
working version 0.5 was ready. I posted it in the Announcements, because I couldn't find
the category Games-Feedback which exists in the german board. But now, as I read on,
I see; "Applications, Games, Tools, User libs and useful stuff coded in PureBasic"

Ooops :) Maybe I should post it here and erase the other thread.

Maybe some of you already know my project called 99 Seconds.
Since today, it has grown to version 0.8 and I think it is more than just another Bejeweled
Clone. There are some extra moves and the Joker was introduced in the latest version.

You can find a ReadMe.txt and a HowToPlay.html in the rar-archive to get all the
details. (Hope there are not to many mistakes in the docs, but I tried my best)

Image

The whole package has about 18 MB (some big sound samples and music modules)
and can be downloaded from my site.

Hope you enjoy it.

Until then

Another one?

Better than the first?

I've got real work to do. You're killing me :)

Seriously, this is good stuff. I love bejeweled and this is spectacular.

Many thanks

cheers

Hello Thomas,
I've moved over from the other thread on announcements.

>> Possibly a bug. When playing and having got some free moves and some special moves,
>> if I use all my special moves when there are some free moves left, I am not allowed
>> to use the remaining free moves. I hope that makes sense.

>Well, we'll see if I understand it right.
>With the Special-Move you can swap 2 Blocks that are neighbours in >any direction. (h/v/d)
>With the Free-Move you can swap 2 Blocks that are NOT Neighbours. >Left Top with bottom right
f>or example. In other words; the smallest distance for a Free-Move is 2 >Blocks. (XXOOX)
>Hope my interpretation was right.

Yes you were right and I should have read the new instructions

That really helps when you are running out of moves

Excellent game - Thanks

Hello dsw

It's always a pleasure to answer such a polite posting.

>> Yes you were right and I should have read the new instructions

I also took a look at the HowToPlay.html and must say
that I was not detailed enough with those extra Moves.

>> With the Special-Move you can swap 2 Tokens (also diagonal) without having to
>> build a valid combination. The tokens remain on their new positions...

...swap 2 Tokens that are neighbours... should be clearer, I think.

Hello

The updates (called 08x) are commented in german only (for the moment).
Some of the improvements are;
* Sounds and Music can be faded with the mousewheel now.

* Clicking, while the blocks are moving has no effect.

* The Clues-Function can be overused. This means, if you
press <C> more than twice in a Minute the Clues will be
blocked for the next 60 Seconds.

* An Optionsmenu is now available. You can choose from 7
Difficulties. Very Easy starts with 7 Blocks and the
Standard is 9 Blocks. (Very Hard starts with 15 Blocks)

Just copy the content of the update over your 99 Seconds
Folder. (includes only some BMPs and the 08x.exe)

(Ah, the bright pink block has moved to a later position)

Hi,

I get a 404 (file not found) error when i try to download the full game. Could you look into it?

Thanks for the info. I just looked into my (free)acount and read that the Traffic Limit
of 1 GB has been exeeded. So, no more downloads until I find a new Host.

Hello there

My little Project found a new home at http://99seconds.pb-club.de/

Thanks alot for the Webspace, Hroudtwolf.

For the coming version 0.9 I am looking for talented Musicans and Graphic
Artists who would like to support my little project.

I would like to allow the Player to select from 3 or more different
Block-Sets in the Options. All GFX is in BMP-format, so have a look if you
are interested in doing better then me.

The music is not mp3 or ogg, all of them are tracker-modules, mostly XM and IT.
Maybe some musicans have a fitting module that builds atmoshere for the game.

All of the Soundeffects were made with my Sequencer Orion using VSTI.
Maybe some Fruity Loops (or whatever) Composers can build better SFX with their
tools then me.

Also the text-graphics for the menus and Highscore Tables could look much better
if someone with talent would design them. (via PN please)

until then

Just a little comment, even if I'm not able to test your game because of missing time, sorry!
(But the screenshots are looking good, I can imagine it's a funny game... :D)

As I'm reading about the (relative) big size of download package, couldn't it be a good solution to switch over to PNG graphics (much smaller size)?

Furthermore you're welcome to post your project also in the Showcase on my site www.PureArea.net! 8)

Hallo Andre

(schreiben 2 deutsche auf englisch, auch nicht schlecht)

Short answer: No

The GFX are (beside the exe) the smallest part of the package.
The Soundeffects need 11.8 MB and the Music-Modules (23 atm)
need another 22.5 MB.

Hello there

When I released version 0.8 on 03/27 the Sourcecode had a size of 56 Kb.
Until today the code has grown (what a coincidence) to a size of 112 Kb.
So I decided today, version 0.9 is completed now.

In the next days the Docs will have to be reworked and the Block-design
will get another try. (Looking for GFX-Artists)
In about one week version 0.9 will be ready to download, I think.

For those of you, who already know my little Game, don't need a detailed
documentation, and don't want to wait any longer, there is an offer.
I'm looking for volunteers who will send me their Highscores in all of
the 8 difficulty levels (if possible).

All you have to do is sent me the small file "HiScores.dat".

The Scores will be integrated into the Game and can be found on my Website later.

Send a Mail or PN and I will send you the UPDATE to version 0.9 today.
