PureBasic 4.20 needed

Post by DMC »

Hi,

I have a serious problem. I am registered user since a few years and I need PB 4.20 registered setup-package, because some of the userlibs refuse to work with PB 4.30. But from the "registered user" area I can only download PB 4.30.

Any chance to get the PB 4.20 setup-package?

Thanks.

You'd need to contact Fred with your details. It's not legal for us to give
it away, especially to a new user here with this as his only post.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Ah, ok. I can understand that.

It would be very handy if you were able download the last 2 or 3 releases from the registered users are.

Anyway. I will contact fred via e-mail. Hope he can sort things out for me.

Thank you.

Well, it's not really Fred's job to store the versions for you. Just keep 'em
after you download 'em. For example, here's my own personal collection:

But its your job to tell what Fred's job is?

This feature could have come in handy a few times last year, when i was switching workstation often. Usually i didn't use any userlibraries, but once in a while it was just needed due to pressure of time. And using different versions on the machines etc. It would have saved some time.

See this thread: http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtopic.php?t=20711

The editor had only 5 options :!:

And the Compiler Options had only 3 settings :!:

Yep, there's a menu item called Debugger which is ticked, and a Debugger
folder. I didn't try to compile anything just now to test though, as it uses
commands that no longer exist (InitGadget etc) and all my sources don't
have them.

2.02 had 2 compiler options (NT4 and InlineASM) and no preferences for the editor at all. Also no debugger. It had a stunning 165 functions and everything was case sensitive :D

This is also intresting:

@freak:

I think your graph is wildly inaccurate as it suggests there are over 1100 PB functions in version 4.3. But the PureBasic home page definitely mentions only 800+ 'internal commands'.

I must trust the home page as this is PureBasic's 'mission statement' to the world at large so obviously will be 100% factually accurate otherwise potential users will be misled about the true power of PureBasic and so put off from using it. And we certainly wouldn't want that to happen, would we?

Therefore, please amend your graph so it reflects the truth as stated on the home page.
