Hi - I decides to add music to my art slideshows and downloaded a copy of Audacity. I had used it several years ago on a different computer and it's a great program. Now when I try to use it I get a Audio I/O error. It seems to go the the Sounds and Audio Devices section. The only audio listed there is modem #1/#2 line playback/record. There is no mention of my Diamond Xtreme Sound PCI Card 5.1.
I've written to Audacity to see if there is a way to force the program to find/use my card but I don't think they will respond to individual problems. Does anyone know how to get the sound card listed into the Audio Devices.
I also noticed that the Volume portion of Audio Devices says "no audio device" and everything is ghosted. I have sound working for everything so that's not a problem. I appear to have PnP installed. Is service pack 3 a problem?
Any help or references are appreciated.
