Post by dracflamloc »

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you guys know, that besides my mmo in pb, I've been developing games for the iPhone.

Check them out if you've got one! =)

one serious question:
you really need a MAC to run the SDK for them, don't you?

... I mean, no "skrew it"-sdk for win-PC?
oh... and have a nice day.

If you 'jailbreak' your iphone there is an unofficial cross-platform sdk. But to make apps you sell through iTunes, yes you need an intel mac to run Xcode. Kinda sucks, but I just borrow a mac from a friend.

Same here, developing apps for iPhone. Kind of fun when you get the grip of Objective-C overhead...

Why don't you install Leopard on a partition on your PC? Works great! :D

So, we can't expect PureBasic for iPhone

Hm, what's about PureBasic for Symbion phones? Or another portable plattform?
I would select exactly the phone which allows me to produce my own programs on it easily!

Why not? iPhone OS is Unix based and the SDK is based on gcc.

It'd be in violation of Apple's policies/eula/contract/whatever

What is the name of this cross-platform SDK? Is this what you used to compile for the Apple store? Is the code portable to the official SDK?

dracflamloc, I'm not sure if you saw them but would you mind answering some of my questions regarding the SDK?
