"Star Wars: Episode 48 - Back to the roots"

Post by zxtunes.com »

I have finished the first full game on PureBasic (open source). Image

It is comic shooter, with original pixelart graphics and chip music.

Game participated in the Russian festival of computer art and has won first place. Image

Game will be in three languages.
But with a translation into English I have some difficulties.

Here there are people well knowing the language, ready slightly to correct my tranlation?

Not.

I am afraid that the text will be not absolutely clear.
Therefore volunteers well knowing language which would read the text to game are necessary to me and have corrected bad places.

After that I can publish game.

Congrats! :)
Good programmers don't comment their code. It was hard to write, should be hard to read.

Cool graphics!!! It even got realistic simulation of Attribute Clash! Will it be released on a real Sinclair ZX Spectrum too (On TRD and TAP/TZX)? I guess, 48 is impossible, but 128 maybe...

You are right, I have started game to do in 2004 year for ZX Spectrum 128K, but source codes have been lost and I have thrown game.

But this summer I have visited inspiration and I have understood that it is possible to write game on PureBasic already under PC and it will be amusing!!

And I have made it for one month.

Wow! Only a month. Maybe you can still rewrite it for Speccy? You got already all routines and you can surely convert them to Z80. Just tried to convert your screens back to Spectrum, and it looks excellent.
Is it a scrolling or flip screen game?

George Lucas' Lawyers would not bother about a russian freeware game as much as they would bother about one made in US. Image

Guys really nobody wishes to help?

The text small and works on for 5-10 minutes.

Or here nobody knows English?

Game has been finished 2 months ago and I cannot release it only because of not verified English text.

By the way, having made this game I has found out very unpleasant BUG.

GrabSprite () in windows mode does not work on many modern graphic cards (internal).

Because of what I was forced all sprites to cut out and to then load by the piece.

It's not that we don't want to help, it's just that we don't understand Russian...

Or at least I had assumed that it was translating from Russian to English...

I thought your request was for Russian->English translators. I can assist you if you just need someone to examine an English translation for proper syntax and grammar.
