No I haven't.

In the past I used NetCaptor and more recently SlimBrowser, both are alternative front-ends for Internet Explorer and had crashing and other problems, so I decided to just use Internet Explorer directly and use plug-ins like RoboForm and IE7Pro to add functionality I wanted.

Not sure if it's been listed already (quite a few pages!)...

I though someone posted one of those apps that you can "record" what your
doing on your computer .. like to make a video tutorial, then it craps it out
as a movie...

Anyone know?

ABCJ - uses ABC Notation to transcribe music.

eg:

Code: Select all

X:1
T:The Girl From Ipanema
C:music: Antonio Carlos Jobim words: Vinicius de Moraes
M:
Q:1/2=60
K:C
|: d3 .B B2 .Ad- | d2 .BB- BBAd- | d2 .B2 B2 .Ad- | d.d.BB- BBAc- |
   c2 .AA- AAGB- | B2 .GG- GG F2 | z2 G6- | G4 z4 |
   d3 .B B2 .Ad- | d2 .BB- BBAd- | d2 .B2 B2 .Ad- | d.d.BB- BBAc- |
   c2 .AA- AAGB- | B2 .GG- GG F2 | z2 G6- | G4 z4 |
This is much more accurate than MIDI (I'm told) and the transcribed music can be transposed up or down to a new Key very easily.

The transcribed music is rendered very well into standard music notation and can be played through the Java MIDI player.

I'm pretty sure SandBoxie (www.sandboxie.com) is listed here so here's an update.

SandBoxie is no longer freeware, the author has decided to go full shareware with it.

The price also went up from the optional $25 to a required $30.

Still a bargain worth every penny!

Tersus: Web applications as easy as drawing

Post by Tipperton »

I don't even remember how I managed to find this program but it is totally awesome!

Tersus is a totally visual (no coding required) web application generator.

Excerpts from their web site:
The Easy Way to Create Web Applications

100% Visual - No Coding, No Scripting
Tersus is a Visual Programming Platform for creating rich web applications.
Simply draw flow diagrams and Tersus will bring your application to life.
Tersus is open source.

Tersus makes it easy to create AJAX web applications.

To develop an application with Tersus, just draw a diagram of your application. The Tersus Server will automatically execute the diagrams, taking care of all that is required to "bring your application to life".

Tersus development is 100% visual. No coding or scripting is needed. The diagram of the application (called "the model") defines it all: screen layout, rich client side behavior, and server side processes.

Enjoy!

Didn't see it listed in this thread yet. VirtualBox is a free VM tool. Not the best or the most stable, but good enough to quickly check something under a different environment or language.

freeware to search for files and text within files

Post by nhokem »

Thought I'd pass this freeware along to anyone that may be having issues with XP's search "feature" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309173):

Agent Ransack

Basically does a search for files and, more importantly in my case, text within files. Also displays a preview of the line(s) that the searched for text was found (extremely helpful since I needed to find all programs with a particular DB2 file I needed to recompile and the preview of lines made it easier to ignore those programs that just had that filename in commented sections).

A free low poly modeller (looks and works like Milkshape, but it's open source and multiplatform). It's great for creating models (it can be used with Blender to export for Ogre).
