Equivalent to Polib

Post by Progi1984 »

Working on the reflexion to this project, I asked me what is the equivalent for Linux systems to polib.

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\PureBasic\Compilers>polib.exe
Pelles Library Manager, Version 3.00.1
Copyright (c) Pelle Orinius 1997-2005

Syntax:
POLIB [options] {files | @commandfile}

Options:
/DEF:filename Build import library from module-definition file
/EXPLODE Create object files for all members
/EXTRACT:member Create object file for the given member
/LIST List all member names
/MACHINE:{ARM|IX86|X86} Set target machine type
/NOUND Don't add underscore
/OLDIMPLIB Create import library in old format
/OUT:filename Name the output file
/REMOVE:member Remove the given member
/VERBOSE Display more information
Thank you :)

IIRC "ar" is the linkingtool for purebasic libraries on linux.

Code: Select all

> ar
Usage: ar [emulation options] [-]{dmpqrstx}[abcfilNoPsSuvV] [member-name] [count] archive-file file...
       ar -M [<mri-script]
 commands:
  d - delete file(s) from the archive
  m[ab] - move file(s) in the archive
p - print file(s) found in the archive
q[f] - quick append file(s) to the archive
r[ab][f][u] - replace existing or insert new file(s) into the archive
t - display contents of archive
  x[o] - extract file(s) from the archive
 command specific modifiers:
  [a] - put file(s) after [member-name]
  [b] - put file(s) before [member-name] (same as [i])
[N] - use instance [count] of name
[f] - truncate inserted file names
[P] - use full path names when matching
  [o] - preserve original dates
[u] - only replace files that are newer than current archive contents
 generic modifiers:
[c] - do not warn if the library had to be created
[s] - create an archive index (cf. ranlib)
[S] - do not build a symbol table
  [v] - be verbose
[V] - display the version number
  @<file> - read options from <file>
 emulation options:
  No emulation specific options

I'm just finding this same answer in walker's "Tailbite for Linux"'s sourcecode.
