Chuffing heck!

Post by srod »

I've written 1200 lines of code today! I can't bloody believe it. I knew it had been a good day, but that is ridiculous! (And no, there's not 1199 comments! )

That has got to be a flipping record! I'll be catching up with Gnozal at this rate! :)

Let's see then. Can anyone beat that for one day's coding?

Ah, yes it has been a 12 hour stint, give or take the odd few hundred timeouts whilst I made a cup of coffee etc. :)

I recently had to write a database search utility for a friend of mine.
He gave me a deadline until the next day. Well, 9 hours and about 1100 lines
of code later, I fell into my bed like a wet sandbag...
...still waiting for the bugreport

I managed 900-1000 a day once...

Usually it is about 300-350 MAX and I am grouchy for about an hour after.

Mind you: 300-350 WORKING lines... That include debugging and whining to srod to help me fix my code!
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

a week to recover due to 1100 lines?

you wanna know what makes ME sit here and post? The new studio microhphone (condensor. A sontronics stc2. WITH steel floor-stander. WITH shockmount looking cool. WITH prof. K&M Popfilter..) AND THE LYRICS ARE WRITTEN, THE TRACK IS nearly PRODUCED.

but the salesman forgot to give me a preamp
he gave me a linedriver instead..... I went to the store, KNEWING I NEEDED A PREAMP, but he didn't know what he talked about and convinced me i wanted a linedriver, not a preamp. fucks sake now i can't use it for the second night!!

If they do not give me the preamp tomorrow i have cleared the weekend schedule for studio time for NOTHING.

rant off :P

One line every 36 seconds for twelve hours straight (including coffee breaks!), that's going some.

I think you deserve the rest.

Most I've ever done was 1400 lines in one sitting.. I don't know if it was 1 day or 2 days, but it was in one sitting! And it wasn't in PureBasic either. It was back in 1996 and I was using LibertyBasic 1.2 or 1.4, I just don't remember now. I think I slept for a week after that.

You made me think back to what I remember as a nightmarish project I once completed over a single weekend of coding in Python. I just went back and checked it, and the number of lines (just the wheat, no chaff) totaled only 1446 lines. So I stand in awe of your 1200 in a day, sir
