Do you know, at age 5, my son has outgrown the following

"I want an ice cream"

"Here, I bought you a strawberry ice cream"

"I wanted Chocolate" !!

Now swap "ice cream" for "new forum"
Then swap "Strawberry" for "application"
And "Chocolate" for "Game"

And you get...

Berikcos not knowing the difference between an app and a game certainly explains why the VD is so buggy and so far behind the rest of PB when it comes to performance and stability.

Too be honest, I kind of wonder why you rant and rave so much and attract flames. Think about the topic here.

We got some new forums, you didn't get one that you wanted, took it personally and started throwing insults. Look at the first thing you posted on this thread, You got neglected. Thats what you said. How sad, lets feel sorry for brice. How about the post Beriko deleted on the other thread?

It's all about you and the level of respect attended to you. All is fine provided we treat brice nice.

Don't neglect him or he'll cry. He's only 4 after all. Poor brice. very fragile. gets all gruff to protect himself. Attack Beriko personally if he neglects you, punish him for being a mean man :roll:

Are you a 3rd-class comedian by profession?

I really want to see big companies labeling their games as "applications" on their websites and resellers in their stores. Just because you don't develop games doesn't mean a games forum ain't needed. In fact, with the upcoming releases of PB the 3D side will be fairly polished and attract even more game developers. Of course the games and demos we have at the moment would already justify a seperate forum.

I just don't want to see a 2D shooter on top of a registry tool wich is just bloody confusing!

This is so far over your head. You don't get it do you? It has NOTHING to do with me.

It has to do with ALL of the game developers in the community.

All I asked was why they were intentionally neglected. In response, I get a BS answer that games are apps.

I am sorry, but in the REAL world, and in the industry, games are not apps.

Treating them as the same, is bad for the community. It leads to people not taking PB seriously for its gaming capabilities.

Look how any newcomer to PB is treated if their first post is about games? Koriolis is a perfect example. His tool has been discussed many times. He shows up with a new PB compatible version (something he has been asked for) and the dildo patrol jumps all over him.

I am sorry to burst your bubble, but PB has gaming capabilities. Th3 3D side is still immature and rough, but the 2D side is unequaled, just as it is unequaled for apps.

If you don't like games, keep your nose out of any thread discussing games. You do not see the PB game developers continually starting problems in threads pertaining to apps.

I agree 100%. But with the mentality in this forum, the only thing that will make some people happy is Fred removing all gaming capability from PB.

Here is the thing I don't understand.

There has been an announcement forum for everything, been there forever.

There has been a games forum for ages.

There is no "applications" forum. Never has been, and in fact there still is not. There is a "showcase" forum.

Could it be argued that the game developers have had it good for all this time?

Also I would hazard a guess that a number of people are both games and applications programmers.

BTW, the games forum has been supported by users to the tune of (as at this post) somewhere between 6,000 and 7,000 posts. The new JaPBe forum has over half of that all by itself. 1 application.

Those posts are made by people showing interest in something. The PureBasic team have nothing to do with the post counts. They don't assume a bucketload of nicks and post spurious messages.

Game writers should post more!

This is hair-splitting, I know, but sheesh, so is the complaint.

Anger issues are also a common trait of those who are ex military.

Do you know that they were "intentionally neglected" ?

I'm not against games at all.
