NEVER cater to the needs of third-parties. THEY should cater to YOU, as they
are the ones who have deviated from the official product and therefore they
should assume all responsibility for any problems or "bugs" that they have.
Problem while opening .pb File
Thanks for the background story Freak, always interesting to know why things are this or that way. And I was right, no bug!
I do understand why you did "fix" the problem that you didn't create back then, although as PB said, you really shouldn''t have. If you hadn't, like you said, people would have been all over you guys whining about the editor not loading their sources. As we can see in this thread...

If people want to use japbe then that's fine but then they should not expect their files to work in the normal PB editor (and probably vice versa) therefore you can do whatever you like to the editor that comes with PB and not have to cater for the users of the other one/s. Their problem, not yours!
Out of curiousity, what percentage of people use a different editor than the supplied one I wonder.

What about simply putting a checkbox gadget "JaPBe compatibility mode" into the preferences dialog?
"And God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the spare rib, which God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man"
Maybe from a 'purist' view you should never cater to the users wishes (the users of the very popular third party software), but from a customer support and user satisfaction view, it sometimes makes sense.
Thanks for all your support freak. From my reading in the forum, it's right about 99+% of the time.
cheers

thanks for all everybody !!
I don't know what put this 00 at the start of the file. I always use the PB IDE. But if i'm alone with this problem it's not Purebasic bug. Maybe my NAS (DNS-313) who have a bugged firmware and have similar problem with some Photoshop files who i can't open.
All my other code source are Ok !
Best regards a thanks for all !
Excuse me for my bad english and if you lose some time with my problem !

No way! As I said, any third-party apps should work with PureBasic, and not
the other way around. Because if you do this for jaPBe, then you need to add
a checkbox for UltraEdit, and then another editor, and then another one...

I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
