I came across PureBasic in the Amazon UK marketplace. Due to the low price I purchased it only to find the supplied help file was only supplied in German.
I have downloaded the demo for version 4 and can cross-reference the two help files to translate the German 3.10 help but it is inconvenient. Can anyone supply an English copy of the 3.10 help file?
I know I should just use the latest version but I want to explore dlls and static libraries before deciding wether or not to purchase a full license. The demo version does not support this.
On another topic is there an official list of known bugs. The bug reports on this forum give the impression that there are quite a few bugs.

WANTED Help file (English) for version 3.10
The bugs section will seem overly busy at the moment as major upgrades to the Windows and Linux versions of PB have just been released in beta form. The resulting bug reports are inevitable. Rest assure that bugs are addressed quickly. Personally I always use the latest beta versions for all of my development and I never get held up by bugs and such.
Sorry I can't help with your help manual request.

hi Brian,
are you sure it's 3.10 not 3.30 ?
3.30 is the Topos release, boxed german version I know...
...but mine is german, too, cannot provide an english help for it, sorry.
...I had a look at the PureArea, there is no Help for 3.1/3.3 either, only one for 3.71,
and a demo for the AMIGA-version 2.90 wich may include a help.
http://www.purearea.net/pb/english/download.htm
anyhow, perhaps a program like Google Translate or such can ease your work upon the german help.
and with the bugs...
as srod already said, the amound of bug reports just show the workflow of the beta releases.

Re: WANTED Help file (English) for version 3.10
Here's the Internet Archive of the online documentation, which should have
v3.10 as one of the snapshots -- don't ask me which it is, though!
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... index.html
Note: You may need to cut-and-paste the entire line above to work, I can't
seem to just click it and go to the archive, for some reason.
Anyway, I'd guess the v3.30 archive is this one...
http://web.archive.org/web/200208242311 ... index.html
...because that is the 24 Aug 2002 snapshot, and v3.30 was released on
16 Aug 2002; but again, I'm not 100% sure about that.
Alternatively, I have a DVD which had v3.30 full version on it, which most
likely would have the English help file too. I just can't get it at the moment
as it's in the bedroom somewhere and I'd need to search, and my wife is
asleep right now.
Here's a link to a post I made about it:

fixed between each version:

I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Invest the few bugs / bucks
and go for the latest thing. It's worth it.

Documentation Quirks - Mac OS x
I have noted this in both and current stable release help files are in 3 folders (mac OS x version of purebasic) i did not explore Windows version as yet, but if this made as development snapshot it is likely that it is in other versions too...

only purebasic (english) has index.html file which is in german (likely not intended to be as that). German and French sections miss index.html file altogether.
So if someone has these files a documentation patch can be made even available as errata in the forum.
Also it would be nice to have a main index.html file that leads to the documentation of each language.
It is not too much of a problem to navigate around the documentation, and I know this is not major issue, since there are more interesting problems to resolve with language itself, but for newbies like me it would help a lot to get documentation under control and wander around before jumping to code.
Cheers,
lj

PB 3.10/3.30
Hi,I recently tried to place a review on amazon regarding the Purebasic version that was being sold on there, warning of the version number an possible problems, but amazon would not allow it.
I too bought the Xing version,BUT luckily Fred(or as most would spell it )GOD,allowed me to buy the full version at a reduced cost(Thanks fred).
To be honset I think that the Xing version is a very different product from the beauty that is PB now.
But best of luck.

@Ferty,
My original purchase of purebasic ( years ago!) was in a boxed form which I purchased from a major department store over here in Aus when I saw it on a cheap software shelf. I thought it would have to be really sh**ty software for the price I paid, but was really quite surprised at that time. I purchased a full licence from Fred for it within my 1st week of using it & have never looked back since. ( Actually I think it was only 2 or 3 months later that I finally decided I no longer had any use for my VB6 & threw it in the bin) So for anyone who gets these boxed / downloadable versions of PB, I would highly recommend getting the full licence, you will not be sorry!
