mmmmm Music to my mouth :) :D
Oh yuk, that would never work down in cold victoria. We throw pies into gravy, that's real flavouring mate, stuff the pea soup!!!

Or we chuck a couple of dingo steaks on the barbie with platypus stew. Tried fried croc but it was a bit tough.

You forgot to mention fangbeast that we have been known to chuck a kangaroo steak on the barbie also.
Eating 1 of our own National coat of arm symbols really would have to qualify as a National dish wouldn't it??
Mind you, while you can eat it, it tastes like sh**.....

p.s. Fangles, Croc fettucini try it, it is awsome :)

I like Black Pudding too, although we call it Blood Sausage over here (Blutwurst in German). There is also a soup made out of blood and vinegar, it once was my grand fathers favorite food, but haven't tried it yet. (Pretty uncommon these days)

We marinate the Alligator over here... makes it more tender...

Fried Alligator Gar is the worst thing I have ever eaten. It tastes like old eel without the green sauce! It is a good way to diet, just have to remember the taste. :(

got that from here: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/Gallery/D ... orGar.html
:D
What I want to know is: What do they eat in Norway, NZ, and what do the French consider a "National Dish"???
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

As bad as it sounds the pea and pie floater is quite nice if the peas are done properly.
Yep there is nothing like a good bit of Roo, I especially like kangaroo tail soup when it is made up properly.:)
Shame about the pie cart it definitely was nice to visit after a hard night on the grog and other substances that make you very hungry , but I am too old for all that stuff now though.

Nar mate, didn't forget. Stuff the barbie, we put the bastards in a coal filled hole in the ground like the natives and chuck some yams on it. What a taste, makes beach sand taste good.

Yerr, I reckon.

Dunno, never stuck my head down a septic tank so I can't compare.

Nah, alligator canneloni is better with strained dingo sauce. You have to eat the nuggets left behind.

For Luxembourg, have a look at this one:
http://www.luxembourg.co.uk/recipes.html
"And God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the spare rib, which God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man"

I'd LOVE to see a spot where he tries to piss off some canibal tribe in the djungle, and ends up in a big frying pan...

Unfortunately not. What you mean is "space cookies". ;)

ROSTI is fine chopped potato, roasted/fried in a pan.
We even know this in Austria and the southern germany. Here in Austria we call it "Kartoffelpuffer".
I guess there are a couple of recipes around, we make it just out of potatoes, but I've also seen recipes with meat, sausages or vegetables added.(Don't know the Swiss recipies)

BTW: one of my favorites is nearly everything that comes from the netherlands! Especially everything with potatoes (wedges), bread and the very superb "frittensausse". Yumi, yumi! :)

Also typically Austrian and highly recommended:
"Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes und Ketchup, dazu einen kleinen gemischten Salat"
(Pork in a bread coat, fried with "french fries/freedom fries" and a small mixed salad).

Ah, I definitely need one today. ;)
cheers,
