Neat GUI engine with cool effects for Car PC Software

Post by merendo »

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on Software to run on a Car PC, and now I need an engine that can create a cool-looking fullscreen GUI with graphical elements, text display, dynamic content and fancy transition effects. Oh, and it should also support screen size ratios like 16:9 as that's what most screens that are installed in Car PCs have.

Alright, I know I am demanding :), but anyway, maybe someone knows of such an engine? I could certainly program one myself, but why reinvent the wheel and waste time...

The engine must be free of course as I don't intend to charge any money for the software either.

I hope it's clear what I am looking for... If not please keep asking me.

Thanks for any help!!

I doubt many of us have PCs in our cars, so what do you expect? :)

@Irene: I'm afraid, that's not what I'm looking for, sweety :D... I'll try to explain in a bit more detail.

@PB: Well, it actually doesn't matter whether the PC is installed in a car or anywhere else on the world :) Do you remember the menus from the PureRacer (http://home.arcor.de/wangtang/pureracer/index.html) game, for example? Those looked pretty cool, I think, and I am looking for an engine that can display menus like that.

I don't want to get into a lawsuit with Sony

Well, looks like I have to write that engine myself...
