Thank you, lethalpolux.
Retrogames rule!

This is a nice advertising for Purebasic and its game creation capabilities. I love this style of games. Thanks for not letting this genre die.

[EDIT]

BTW, are you planning to convert all your DirectDraw code to Direct3D? What are you going to use?

Graphically and the movements are absolutely pro if played in a PC which obey the minimum requirements.
The only lack i can see is about the addiction playability. Perhaps it deserves more ideas about arms collection, the way the arms are obtained...

Very pro, lethalpollux and the bgames team. Thanx :!:

Indeed.

I suggest a Difficulty Settings screen with options "Easy", "Normal" and "Hard" for all kinds of players.

But really stunning graphics and awesome playability. :o

and so smooooooooooth...

lethal engine rocks, and your coding skills to !!!

of course that's a great advertisement for PureBasic, like always when it comes from BGames.

Just one word ... *FANTASTIC* !!!!

You totally managed to get the good ole feeling i had playing R-Type II on the Amiga back then !! Omg its addictive too! I especially like the "Introduction-Time" you have before each new Enemy Type so you can prepare yourself ! SUPERB !! The BEST R-Type like Game i ever seen so far !!!

Even tho my test Machine doesen't meet the Min Rrequirements it runs flawlessly without a glitch nor lag!

Config:
AMD Athlon 650 Mhz
768 MB Ram
ATI Radeon 7500 / 64 Mb
Dualscreen 2x 1024x768x32 @ 60 Hz ( TFT )

Sound Volumes here seem ok ( at leats on my Speakers ) =)

A lil Improvement could be that if you get hit you loose one Weapon level Upgrade instead of all ( Its just evil when you catch a slingshot just bevor the Boss while having full upgrades ;) ).

Keep up the Fantastic Work!!

Oh! and thx for the Greetings in the Credits - really put a smile on my Face and made me feel warm and fuzzy regarding the GREAT Community we have here :D

thankx a lot!!!!
i'm very very very happy to read this :) ( i'm a amiga r-type fan too )
this week end i will made a patch to resolve some issues ( i've not see everything  ):

- level 4 after level 3 can start directly by the boss combat
- sometimes the score return to 0
- you loose only one level of weapon when you hit an enemy instead of all

+ i will add some surprises
the patch will be out next week i think.

ps: i will release some new levels too (addon), later. If the game has success

Ok, I'm to lazy to write a detailed review as the game's to big. Just let me tell you that you have created and excellent oldskool shooter with new techniques. You can push PB's popularity a lot with these kind of titles I think.

PS: I can't get passed the vehicle part in Level 1. It's to hard for me...
