I don't hate Microsoft or their products. I just like Apple and their hard- and software more (ok, Microsoft doesn't produce PCs but you know what I mean ^^).

But Apple bounds it's new iPods to iTunes making them impossible to use for us Linux users. Though probably their lock will be cracked in not time.

Well, you see: I don't care about Linux users. That may sound hard but on the other side: fred doesn't care about us MacTel users either and Linux users don't care about technical noobs trying to get into Linux.

Hehe I'm a Mactel User yself though I'm running Linux on my Intel based iMac 99% of the time, with this it's a decent machine.
The noob thing about Linux is also getting better everyday I use Ubuntu and Debian since Warthy Warthog and I must say the improvements between each version have been huge even performance improves on a daily basis and will hit a new peak with the release of the next Kernel with it's new scheduler which will be by far the most advanced one in any operating system today, and even for this new scheduler there are already improvements and fine tuning waiting to get merged.
I can only say for me Linux is the best choice.
