My hosting provider was purchased from another vendor and decided to move all servers to another city. The email I received stated my dedicated server would be down from 8pm on Thursday until 8am on Saturday. Obviously something has gone wrong. I am afraid of what might happen next... I have all the PHP code for the site, but I never saved the database information. I always assumed the provider does this but I have lost confidence in them now.

I will update as soon as I hear something.

No matters what happens, we are behind you 100%. You have provided a fantastic resource to us unemployed, struggling coders. Wish I could help out somehow.

The server is up, the site names all resolve to the new IP, but the internal pipes are not connected. Still more to do on the hosts part and I am sure they will get to it tomorrow. I was able to SSH to the server and do a quick backup via FTP of the important stuff (so no worries Flype).

I was able to Google the solution. I fixed the problem (Apache related) and everything is back up now! 8)

Off to look for another service provider...
