What the fuck u r talking about? Its not long time since? World War 2, as well as the regime, ended in 1945, thats 62 years. So it's not like it was "just yesterday". Apart from that, even if it was "just" some days ago, it's over! Gone, you know? In the 2007 Cuba still has total control over it's citenzens and it's good or bad propaganda. Say sumting negative and u r locked up. Well, or worse...thefool wrote:And you think germany is better? Its not long time since the same happened there. And in the USA. Absolutely correct. Besides, they have the best school system (and its free) in whole south america.aw c'mon Fluid. Cuba is harmless compared with China or North Korea.
every country has it's points where it's not that fine in.
and didn't you know every country has it's "Guantanamo Bays"?
even here in Germany are secret Jails...
There are a whole lots of worse places in this world..
I got it right here on my desk heheSo where's my cigar then bud?
Again i doubt you know what you are talking about. Cuba is actually known for not killing system critics but rather jailing them (opposed to usa's friend Uzbekistan for instance)Well, or worse...
You are right and its true, bur the only responsable of that is the government.Fluid Byte wrote:Yeah, right! Cuba is great as long you don't say anything against the goverment. However normal people in Cuba are very nice and as far as i understand The Fool was talking about that kind of people (average citizen).
In fact those kind people are victims of that government. One more reason to feel sympathy for them

Uzbekistan is no friend of mine... It is a political expedient for our Emporer George...
The USA has SEVERAL secret prisons that you could drive by and never know you are looking at a prison... They are disguised as military bases etc. I know of 2 in Texas... One is ON an active military base.
Don't let all that flag waving fool you... All governments are pretty bad. All systems really pretty much STINK!!! USA included.
The only good government will:
1. form a contract with each individual making a garantee of his / her rights.
2. meet the individuals MOST BASIC NEEDS...
3. Listen to the individuals WANTS
4. Defend the individual from the infrimngment of the first three

Ricardo is completely right. I talked about the PEOPLE there.
And rook zimbabwe is also just as right. Basically every government is bad, and politics is all about propoganda and advertising. Manipulating people. Just see what they do before elections, THEN they take care of people. Otherwise they don't...
not with individuals but an UNCHANGABLE (unless the current government will go OFF when changing it.)
2) works.
3) now thats another story. They do and they don't like everywhere else
4) yah

Nice thread, welcome back!
I have this book 'Hemingways Cuba' by Gerard de Cortance & Jean-bernard Naudin which I love and
also make me wonder why our American friends are so hostile towards them
Seems like a nice place to me..

Yeah. I have been on hemingways favorite bar, too
Absolutely. It is so good to be a place so de-americanized. The only good thing of america is there (a smaller joke of course. But some things of america is so horribly horribly wrong and bad), though, and that is their cool cars from the old timesbecause Cuba resisted the capitalistic influence the US spread over their neightbors..
...what is one of the reasons why it is still a nice place...
Also its lovely sometimes to be able to go around and NOT see mcdonalds signs everywhere... And for goodness sake people, try some cuban coffee. It beats italian!
