Try the newest Mac Version it's still PowerPC but at least it runs on Intel OS X thanks to Rosetta

The old (3,94) and the new (4beta) run on iMac... You can write programs but not execute them...

The only program I can run is 'windows.pb' from sample... And then purebasic crashs. After compiling my program I have the message 'compiler can't read output'... ?

Well same thing here: as long as I don't use any Sprite2D or other graphics commands, I can do "basic" BASIC Stuff. But if I try to compile a simple sprite demo I have written with the same PB Version under Linux, the damn thing compiles but I only get a black screen when running it. Looks like there's quit a lot to do before an Intel iMac will come in handy for doing stuff with PB. We also have a G4 mini but I haven't tried the current beta of PB on that. Maybe it's worth a try ...

EDIT:
Would it be an option for the Mac version of PB to utilize the OS X native SDL release that is available?!

Ok, what's the final status on this issue now? I am desperately trying to get PB work on my Macintosh but I get errors about the assembler.

I am using currently:

- Apple MacBook Pro / Intel Core 2 Duo
- PureBasic v4.00 Beta 1 aka Alpha 2
- Mac OS X 10.4.10

What I have to do get this stuff running? Mission Impossible? :?:

Wich processor? It should work with the non-Intel Macs without a problem. I got PB working on my MacBook Pro after installing XCode developer tools from the Mac OS X installation CD. The Problem is that it's running very slow because the compiler creates PPC executables wich are then emulated with Rosetta.
