Maybe so, but then without the "mistake" Iraq would be near civil war. Sadam may have been bad news, but while he was in power you never heard of problems with violence there, now its a daily occurance that some idiot blew up something and killed a bunch of people.
Believe me that if you watch the 2 hour documentation film "The Iraq Massacre" you will never think that Saddam would be better than the USA, both are equivalently bad.

I'm Iraqi myself and I have lost many relatives in Iraq. There is now only me, my mother and father and my 3 sisters. I neither have any cousins or grandparents

Currently in Oslo, but in 2 weeks or so I'll end my studies and go back to Finland (I'm an exchange student here in Norway)

I see. You should visit Bergen before you go home. Oslo can't even compare with Bergen on a sunny day ;)

No wonder - it's so expensive no one can afford to live there! No people = No violence - it's SO simple...
I promise, no more complains about the prices in Norway (I done that once too much  ), but here is some hard facts you can't ignore!

The famous Big Mac index

http://www.economist.com/markets/indica ... id=8649005

Iceland +131
Norway +106
Denmark +50
Sweden +43

I think that reflects the reality very well. :D

Britain's Big Mac is only +21, I always thought things were more expensive in Britain than most of Europe but looking at these figures I guess not.

Won't be going on holiday to those countries then.

You are right, I know that London is more expensive than Stockholm. I don't think the index reflects the reality in all countries, look at Hong Kong for example. For the Scandinavian countries I think the index reflects the overall prices rather well...

Big-mac index doesn't count anymore at all. Its just old :)
Besides the dollar has moved much and the danish bigmack is almost a dollar more expensive than the sheet sais.

AND there are huge differences on other things. For example its cheaper to buy food in norway than denmark usually (at stores)

And when it comes to cars, denmark is 130% more expensive than norway, and this makes denmark the land in the world with highest car prices. We are simply unbeatable!

(a lexus LS 240 costs 1.9 million dkr in denmark, and i think it was 900 000 NOK!!! (nok is LESS worth than DKR) in norway.)
