Norway is rated the most peaceful country in the world

Yeah, it's official. We won't hurt a fly, we only make bombs and weapons, we don't use 'em ;)

Yeah, i read this before. The actual source is the Global Peace Index:
http://www.visionofhumanity.com/rankings/

We (Germany) are at place 12 which is still not bad i think.
I ask myself where the "Likelihood of violent demonstrations" score of 2
comes from though. Especially since this rating is older than the G8 summit... :)

Another thing i wonder is how to get a 1 rating at "Level of distrust in other citizens" when
even you peaceful Norwegians only got a 2 :P

Denmark is still having better life quality :p

anyway i don't understand this stuff. Denmark get a 5 in Freedom of the press. Thats weird. Because here you can say whatever you want. No one ever got punished for the mohammed drawings. You can make official claims of not believing in the holocaust if you want to!

I just can't see how the hell we got that score.. This is just some bullshit done by some uneducated ducks

I mean COME ON they give switcherland (or how the... you spell it) higher rankings in freedom of the press. Thats not normal.. They don't even have what we call free press because of some restrictions on holocaust!

But i'm not going to complain over the 3rd ranking. Afterall we did have some disturbances this year hehe

edit: Before talking of ducks, is 5 worse or better than 2? hehe
Anyway try to compare norway and denmark. They are very very close in just about everything. Except funnily enough in gdp per capita, however i can't care about that as my family lies 10 times above the average in norway anyway hehe

Interesting comparisons, for sure. I'm happy with Canada's place at number 8, and I'm particularly proud of our government's decision to stand fast in the face of enormous pressure from the US to help them attack Iraq. We knew there was no legitimate reason for it and we wouldn't budge, though it cost us a lot in terms of goodwill between our nations. I must say Ireland's rank at #4 seems a bit incongruous, but maybe things have changed over there in recent years.

Yeah, I saw that with Ireland, I assumed it was southern Ireland and not Northern Ireland as Northern Ireland is part of the UK.

How do you mesure "willingness to fight"?
Did they go up to random people on the street and punch 'em in the face and see how many of them punch back?

How did they mesure "level of distrust"? Number of Cameras/Binoculars aimed at the neighbourhood per household?

Some of this stuff is elusive.

Then again it's statistics.
(If you go hunting, and miss a deer twice, once on the left, once on the right, then the deer is, according to statistics, hit.)
