:D Nice to see some fellow petrol heads in this forum.
Now that you've got me all wet Geotrail, Nice piece of machinery that 1!!
I myself have an old Aussie muscle car which I bought 2nd hand in 1983 I think it was. It is a Holden Torana SL/R5000 & is running a holden V8 motor which was originally 5 litres capacity. I have had it over bored & fitted a set of 327 Chev forged flattop pistons to it, giving me a capacity of around 5.4 litres. I have done a full engine balance & blueprint toleranced all bearings. It has enlarged valves with Chev ratio roller rockers being driven by a custom made camshaft giving me 517 thou + 519 thou lift @ the valves & 280 degrees duration on Chev anti pumpup lifters. Fuel is delivered via a mechanical 2ndry Holley 650 CFM double pumper carburettor. Ignition is a Mallory dual point dizzy with a high energy coil for sparks. Exhaust is via twin 2 inch extractors.
Total is around 400Bhp & the car is good for low 13's over the standing 400 metres. ( Officially timed @ 13.24 secs from when I used to occasionaly throw it in a CAMS race assoc quater mile sprint :D )

I would post a few pics of it but atm it is not in the best condition since it got stolen out of my garage while I was away on holidays last year & I have been too disheartened to get it repaired since getting it back. ( no major damage though, just cosmetic stuff thankfully & all very fixable. )

Anyway, if any1 is interested, here is a little demo thingy I made up 1 rainy sunday afternoon & shoved on my bosses computer ages ago because he is a 1 eyed Ford supporter. It has a pic in it pre - being stolen.

Holy cow! You used some of my old music in it! I'm proud :D

Since then i have become much better technically [and spent a lot more money on equipment and vst's hehe], so the latest time i have actually been doing some rather nice snippets. I still like this old melody though. It was at the time where i didn't even know what a compressor was. I just selected some presets i liked, made a drum track from some samples and then i wrote the tune i had composed in my head :)

The car looks really nice, though. I wonder if you could fit a compressor on it.. Well you could.

I love muscle cars. I don't have one though. Denmark is probably 300% more expensive than norway on cars :/
AND i don't have the technical experience to work on the engine. I just know how it works peh.

You need some wild hood scoop / intake thoughImage

I hate car thiefs. Plonk an alarm in it, will ya :)

Hm, is this the car from the fast and the furios?

It looks like this, even this "house" in the background and so on.

Wow, that is pretty good for a "small" engine :)
Most drag car don't use engines below 7 liters in the big leagues ;)
Maybe if I get myself down under I could ride shotgun with you.

Maybe one day I'll move to the Isle of Man I think it was, where they have no speed limits hehehe

I actually got to work & started the old thing up this morning after charging the battery overnight. I had almost forgotten just how loud & obnoxious the sound of this old thing is. When I kicked her up, the iron roof of my garage actually started rattling. It is still a really nice ego trip to own this thing even after having owned it for 24 or so years
Mind you, because I havent started it for something like 10 months, it is running really rich & the fumes had my eyes watering & actually drove me out of my garage. I might get it out & take it for a run out to the farm next weekend I think. :D

I did some searching on the old Aussie Torana's looking for some video clips of which there are dozens.
Here is 1 Ok 1 I found, with the black car @ the end.

here is another little 1

And a hero's lap of the Brock Torana legend

BTW Geotrail, this might explain a little as to why it is that I have managed to lose my licence 3 times over the years.....
