Stereo problems...

Post by Hydrate »

I have an issue with my home Aiwa stereo, its quite old, a 3 cd holder/player with two casset drives, auxillary and a radio tuner. My problem is with power. I cant seem to get the damn thing to turn on... well, i can sometimes, but i dont know what the problem is.

Before it did this I have had a problem with the CD drive not functioning at all for a long time, now I cant get it to turn on, and when i do it stops fully displaying on its display pannel, all of the buttons stop responding and then the only option is to unplug it, doing so results in another 3 horus trying to get ti to switch on.

Does anybody know anything about stereo's at all who would be able to tell me the problem or perhaps how to fix it???

Do a Google search for the model number, but maybe this thread can help you somehow:

Sounds exactly like the problem you're describing! You didn't post it, did you? :)
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Ah perfect, how exactly can I fix a damaged 10uf capacitor? Im assuming I need a replacement, which appear to be about £9 nowdays. How is it i can identify which one is damaged?

I think i need to look for bulges/brown subsances on them etc, however im not seeing any.

Maybe its more easy to buy a new (cheap) card? Checking items on a board is very hard.
