The MOST annoying thing about windows

Post by Rook Zimbabwe »

I am not a person easy to anger... not really... I spent 10 years teaching Middle School and IMPO I have patience.

But the most annoying thing, the thing that just makes me not happy... In windows...

DESKTOP CLEANUP

You have unused icons on your desktop... SO FREAKING WHAT!!!!
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

You can disable desktop cleanup completely.
  1. Right-click on the desktop
  2. Choose properties
  3. Go to the Desktop tab
  4. Click the "Customize Desktop" button near the bottom
  5. Uncheck the "Run Desktop Cleanup...." option near the bottom
  6. Click "Ok" twice
Desktop cleanup will never bother you again....

A "feature" in Windows XP or later that automatically deletes desktop icons you don't use very often....

Yup, and they do it because it generates more support requests they can charge for...Image

It automatically deletes them? No. Its TELLS the user of unused shortcuts and then lists them, asking for which to remove. But yes quite annoying, but you can just turn it off.

It does not delete them, it creates a folder on your desktop named "Nicht verwendete Desktopverknüpfungen" (in English it must be "Not used Desktopshortcuts") and moves all *.lnk files into it (afterthe user has confirmed this progress).
