My newest music track: Fearness [UPDATE]

Just good that I won't have any tests for a while (I got A+ from maths test ^^).. Anyway, now I have started to work on this a little bit.. a track called "Fearness" featuring one of the best VSTs around: Vanguard. I also used some Phoscyon to have a TB303-like bass in the background.. this was done in Samplitude 9 (http://www.samplitude.de)

PS: I didn't know any good name for the author ID3 tag, so I just put MilkTechno there
The drums there are part of my drumkit which I will soon release if it will ever get complete..

Interesting anyway. Personally i like something with more "kick" in it (you know what i mean, pm's. i think i sent you a link to some of the stuff). Thats just my personal prefference hehe.

I like the sharp arp, sounds like its a snap of an organ or so.


Now the drums are something else. I like the percussions! Of course i enjoy a big bass drum once in a while (the new nexus drum xpansion rocks btw), but i am looking forward to seeing the drumkit

i already imagine those percussions in a breakdown@dance hehe

I tried to find a little more "kicky" bassdrum, but any of them that I tried just made the track sound like 2nd-class techno shit.. My drumkit is now like 60% ready, I only need to add some hats to it and then it should be quite complete.

The arp was originally done in FL Studio using 3xOsc and the Arpeggiator (really powerful combination!).. Actually, I wanted to use Nexus in this, but I thought that if I am already trying to make my own drumkit, why not use it in one of my projects? I started to make this track originally in MilkyTracker (yes, a tracker program) and then I started to convert the patterns to Samplitude and did alot of edits..

It seems like I was able to do something that pleases your ears

Yeah i know the 3xOsc, but i never used it that much

In a creepy game, it would fit quite well, though.

I'll send you some of my stuff later on, just doing some rahter nifty stuff (Dance/stadium techno like this time), but only for private eyes.

I started to play with my drumkit a little and I got a Dark Edition of Fearness done.. Link in first post.

It has some kind of breakdown there, and it features some more samples from my drumkit... I think I will start to create games, once I have found a good C++ OpenGL Tutorial..

You may use it if you like, I can also send you the FL Studio or Samplitude project file just incase you need them. But be sure to give me credit (by the name MilkTechno).

If you want, I can also try to convert it to XM, so you can play it later on with FMOD.

Thanks! I was looking for 2D tutorials mainly.. and then probably use OpenAL to make cross-platform games.

Uhmm.... the start is very boring, and the track is too long = too boring.. There are some parts where it gets better, but then again, your lousy drums make it bad..

It's kinda OK,, not too bad and not too good.. I think thefool is better than me to rate that track, because he has "magical duplex multifunctional low latency multimedia musical ears"..

Straight on: I don't like the bass. Too low, too grumpy. Much louder & more soft bass for trance!

at 1:26 or so you start a kind of pad i like.
I'd change the lead, add more subtones and melody. 1 single note through it all is simply too little
