Trouble w/ Windows Vista 64 Bit

Post by Karbon »

I'm about half way through an install of Windows Vista (Business) 64bit Edition due to a number of people complaining that several of my apps written in PureBasic weren't starting on the 64bit Vista (though they do seem to run fine on 32bit editions).

Any known problems there?

64 Bit Systems overall ( also XP ) can be really "pissed" with some 32 Bit apps. And its alot of 32 bit software that doesent run on the 64 Bit windows'es yet ...

Its a general problem so far with their emulations... i had to reinstall 32 bit here on alot of customer machines because some of the necessairy software absolutelly didnt want to run.

Lack of drivers for certain components was the reason I dropped back to 32 bit.

cheers

Unfortunately I'm having more and more potential customers ask about 64bit support. I think it's coming from more and more laptops being sold with 64 bit editions of Windows pre-installed. Hard to tell for sure but a year ago I hadn't logged a single request and so far in 2007 I've logged more than a dozen.
