That is a good point - making an exact copy of the Ferrari and then driving off in that would have been a better comparison.

I didn't check the entire Express Series yet, I only have VC++2005 Express, it you don't use MFC/ATL it doesn't make big difference.

However I didn't compare it in the aspects of compilied code quality etc, I'll find out later...

You do not need the original of any of the software on offer there.

One friend has bought some and it is just copies with the key allready generated it seems.

Very likely an illegal site.

It is not on an original hologram disc and does not come with a certificate; it is the full retail version with serial number and installation instructions included. It can be used as a backup copy of the original disc, a replacement disc, an evaluation or whatever you want to use it for personal use.

I bought a copy of VB 2005 for £100.00 odd before i saw this (damn).

Won't even buy this now as I find the new VB has changed so much that it is worth looking at alternatives such as Pure Basic.

Most of the programs i write are for the PC with a bit of data access over a local network. The new VB seems to be almost totally web oriented with so many "features" that they simply get in the way.

Also after having seen just a few examples of C# it would seem that VB 2005 is simply C# with a few renamed procedures and the curly brackets removed.

All the quoted advances for VB 2005 I believe could easily have been incorporated into the current product.

If all you are interested in is Microsoft compatibility then maybe this is the product, but if like me you would one day like to migrate to Linux then don't bother go for Pure basic.
