That's really old, and not really true these days anyway. Last time I had a
bluescreen was back with Win 98. Never had one with Win 2000 or higher.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

So what? I use Windows XP since 2002 till today and had a total of around 5 bluescreens and these were related to serious hardware issues. That's damn friggin' reliable! Apart from that I was rarely in a situation that XP couldn't recover from. And besides, MacOS or Linux are far away from being called bullet-proof.
Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit / Whose Hoff is it anyway?

Well, I said "not really true" -- and you have to admit that you don't get them
as often as Win 9x gave them, right? To get a bluescreen on XP something
must've really gone wrong somewhere, compared to Win 9x where they came
along for the most trivial of reasons. :)

IRQ errors are most common here :p
but absolutely fewer. Problem is that you could return after a bluescreen in win98 sometimes, when you get them in xp its REALLY bad.

Yup! :)

I have also been using XP since it first came out and to date the bluescreen has been a very rare ocurence.

When they did ocur it was always something about an IRQ, I suspect it was just something getting confused because without making any changes I'd Just reboot and all would be fine.

I can't even remember when the last time I saw a bluescreen was....

For me XP has been very stable and reliable. Another very good reason to not upgrade to Vista....

Only been using Vista for a little over a month, but it seems to be very stable. No blue screens. Only 'problems' relate to the increased security which is easy enough to disable.

My experience shows no significant reason to upgrade from XP, but no reason to avoid Vista either.

Why don't you go dig yourself down?
I didnt say anything about linux or MacOs. I don't know where you got that
idea from. I just pointed out that it was still able to do it.
