We need a new PureBasic release!
We need a new PureBasic release!
Because there's too many science-vs-religion posts happening!
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

I think the Linux 4.02 Version is realy ready to get full status. I mean it's thousands times as stable as the old stable version, this should be reason enough. I also hope we get a intel Mac Alpha in the next few months^^

Re: We need a new PureBasic release!
Do we even have any Mac users who seriously expect a 4.X PB version for Macs to be released? Seriously folks, after a year since any news on the new Mac version, haven't you moved on to another Mac language by now?I also hope we get a intel Mac Alpha in the next few months^^
Hopefully by this fall, Fred can find some time to give PB some much needed attention.there are few small but very annoying bugs in win pb4.02 that need to be fixed... By the way, nco2k, there are at least 2 major bugs i posted for 4.02!
Fred is working on the Mac port he stated it here: http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... sc&start=0
as you can see this is only one month ago, and seriously learning C++ in parallel doesn't stop me from waiting for PB 4.0 for Mac, it's simply a wonderfull language and probably the best for small GUI apps.
And seriously it's not that negative on the windows side either, i mean yes there are some small bugs but most of the problems come from bad user habits, the only thing which is still more buggy is threadsafe, however users will do x times more bugs in threaded code as well and many of these bugs will be claimed to be PBs fault. And yes there are Mac users waiting and the market for Macs is rapidly growing, please don't think if you concentarte only on windows your job as a developer will be safe, we have seen systems like the Amiga or Commodore vanish in a few years, don't believe this can't happen to windows as well. the only system it will probably not happen with is the OpenSource systems since they don't rely on single companies and monetary support and the code will be usable as long as there is a C compiler and if there is not there will probably be someone who can implement one.

We have been hearing that for a year. Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring it. :roll:Fred is working on the Mac port he stated it here
Don't get defensive, nobody is bashing Macs. And yes there are Mac users waiting and the market for Macs is rapidly growing, please don't think if you concentarte only on windows your job as a developer will be safe
That is not honest. Amiga/Commodore were computers (hardware) and an Operating System (software). Windows is just an operating system (software). PCs (hardware) aren't going anywhere, and with Macs and PCs being virtually the same hardware-wise, the hardware comparisons are now mostly moot.we have seen systems like the Amiga or Commodore vanish in a few years, don't believe this can't happen to windows as well.
I have no plans to "officially" support Vista. Ubuntu runs fine on my PCs and OSX runs fine on two of my PCs.
Hopefully one day soon, we can use PB for all three OSes.

This is a true word. i think the ideal on the OS Market would be maybe 35% Windows + 35% Mac + 30% OpenSource OSs
Though I like Linux most, I don't want it to loose it charme and customizability maybe a small elite reputation will stay^^
I also hope that compatibility rises, so we get hardware that works perfectly with Linux and Windows without needing binary drivers.
