A teaching colleague of mine just told me that she was teaching a particularly unruly Religious studies class, when someone shouts out (with a serious tone):

Oy, it says here that Jesus was born in poverty!

Yes, came my friend's reply.

Well you told us that he was born in Bethlehem!

In our religion classes we are mostly talking about other things like Buddhism & Islam. NO we don't sit & draw muhammed all the time

Still nowadays there is a subject class called "religion",
well the matter is very simple: it is supposed to go to school to learn, this is, to get knowledge, religion study (and even history of religions) is to get unknowledge instead to get knowledge.

Why there aren't (once for all) a subject class of radical human psychology or even psychiatry instead those blemishes?

BTW, i realized that what is sawed in history classes is another blemish because there is only studied about the wars, batallions, kings and bishops, instead to look for the history of those known people who ACTUALLY changed and made the world in which we live and in which human beings or other not human beings will live for thousand (may be millions or thousand of millions) years!
It is hardly credible !

I would actually like to see a religion class taught in schools. But purely from an informational perspective like "XX religion believes AA and YY religion believes BB". I think its important for a person to understand others' religions.

What is important is to know how works our brain, (R complex, you know?), and not to loose our valious time in what happened.
Facts are consequences, and the worthy to learn, know and study are not the concrete facts, but the CAUSES of those facts and other possible facts.

Yeah drac you have a good point..
Here at my school our teacher is very nice and friendly, she teaches others' religion in her own way which is very cool! Last week we had to act a scene from our religion book.. it was about Jewish people and so, and it was actually quite fun to act and I learned something about it

You are very wrong, psychopanta. Its not about wanting us to believe, its just as much about Nietzsche, Darwin, Sartre and all the others.

We learn to understand religions, and that is important. Its an outside view on it, not from the inside. The teacher himself is an atheist, so am i, and so are 95% of my class.

It is very simple. To live in a multi-kultural society you have to understand religions. You don't have to be a part of it. It was very hard for danish people to understand the reaction in the muslim world when we had the drawings. It made people hate the muslims even MORE, and this class is more about NOT doing that.

So before you say something is stupid, please rethink it (that goes for you too, Kale).

One simply has to understand why some people believe in gods and other stuff. Religion is INDEED the process of non-thinking, but us thinkers has to understand WHY some do it. That is what it is about.

I see you don't understand what i said thefool, i told about to go to the root of the things, and you are still "entertained" (loosing time) on the surface.

An example: we are here since about 3 million years ago, we call ourself as "rational" and after about 3 million years (since then we are just like we are nowadays: same evolutioned, SAME humans, SAME brain) we are still reproduciing in a natural way. Still we have even not modified ourselves.
It is only an example, but it is enough to demonstrate something big is failing, do you see it?

Hehe, just read about this things in a book written by Osho. If you want to see religion and humanity in another way search for the book at your local bookstore, I am sure they were published in the whole world.
