I once discovered how the bots work, and they are after the phpBB copyright thingy in the bottom of the forums:

Powered by phpBB © 2001, 2002 phpBB Group

If that would be removed, there would be less bots.. atleast that's my experience after removing it from a Linux forum..

You only use fingers when dividing you know

That's what I was thinking, but I see no reason why it couldn't be spam-proofed
like e-mail addresses are (ie. by building the text with control characters).

Oh of course that is a possibility. And it would not be illegal as the text would be there..

Alternatively, put it back in as a bitmap. No one will notice...
