Platform SDK's

Post by Fluid Byte »

If I'm not mistaken there are currently 2 SDK's available:

- Windows® Server 2003 R2 Platform SDK
- Windows® Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK

Are there others? Wich one is newer / better?

I am a little confused...

Over 1GB! Image

But it seems to be the most complete package available.

Thanks for the info!

Heck, the installtion failed 3 times. And even though it's installed now the content list is empty and if I press F1 in PB for a specific command it says "No topics could be located". It only works online, even if I force local search.

I'm probably missing something but the only SDK I can get directly from PB is the oldest one, SP1. The other two don't respond from the ide for me at all. So I'm using SP1 for now.

No, it works just fine. I press F1 and get help for the current API call. Directly from PB. Problem is that it only works online. And when I said it's not working local/offline I meant there is not data at all! The content list is empty. Even though it may not work in PB I'm not even able to use it alone, manually.

This is what I get for local search:

PS: Ok, forget the favorite list but you get the idea...

No, the data is there. I checked the folder. But the viewer seems to be screwed.

I just launched the shortcut for the PSDK from the Start menu and it worked!

Content list, index list, it's all there but the F1 compatibility problem still remains. Pressing F1 in the IDE actually gives you help but it will only work online, not with local data. But using online only help is slow as hell.

Anybody got this new PSDK locally working in the IDE yet?
