FreeBSD is also good, but I'd really prefer Debian.. why? Because it is very actively maintained, it is easy to use, has less bugs/borken packages than other distros, is amazingly fast, making packages is easier than in RPM systems, very easy to make a LAMP server, very good for home usage when used with KDE, is FREE, has a very friendly community and it is my favorite pick!

Is that enough or do you need more reasons?

It's not. E.g. it doesn't have anything like YaST.

Wasn't it Debian whos package servers got hacked?

That's not true - and by the way: Slackware packages are the easiest to create.

Most distributions do have this.

I have compared last kubuntu (which is debian based) and last OpenSUSE distro, and sorry to say to you, but i must agree to WishMaster in all his 5 points.

Ah, it's just Linux and Linux is about choices, so what? Should I go and tell Japanese people to stop eating Sushi and recommend them Pizza and Hamburger?
