You guys are missing the point. The aliens were conducting a proof of concept test on controlling a human being remotely. The following was picked up by a ham radio operator in Norway:

"Sure, ok. But now see if you can make him moan and roll in the mud. If you can do that the mother ship's commanders are sure to believe us!"
