I have been checking out XAML and WPF content on the Web and am finding that the more I look at XAML and WPF I like it.
Has anyone created any applications based on XAML code yet?
I see there are a handful of GUIs. Mobiform's Aurora, ZAM3D, and Microsoft's Expression Design offering.
The other day I was looking for videos of such in action and found a few over at Channel9. I'm getting fired up about this technology for Web Applications.

You think it's a good Idea to use stuff that only works on Windows for Web Applications?

To answer your question Nik, yes.
My programming takes place in the Windows OS and is utilized by Windows OS enabled systems.
I code in PB, AMS, and it looks like soon XAML/WPF for the Windows OS. Further, a majority of end-users are using the Windows OS for their day-to-day activities, including work and entertainment (yes, Linux is moving up the list of "most used OSes" quite fast). With that said, I expect such Web Applications to work in no less than two or three of the top Browsers out there (IE, FF, and say Opera).
FWIW I found this tidbit too:
WPF/E lets graphics created for Windows Vista applications run on other OSes as well as on the Web

When Microsoft is talking of other OSs they mean other Windows versions, but well I think xaml shouldn't be too hard to implement for the OpenSource folks. Even more so since they invented it

Yes. Why in the world should someone create web applications that would work only on Window$?WishMaster wrote:> To answer your question Nik, yes.
The aim of web-based applications is to be platform-independend
There are many Linux, Unix, Hurd, Mac OS X, BSD, Darwin.. (oh my I could make a list bigger than my bed =] ) ...users and many people are going over the hedge from Window$ to something else; which means the userbase of that web application in question would only consist of l4m3 Window$ users =)
Linux 4ever!
I'm rich bi4tch!
