Merry Christmas to all that observe this holiday (and New Years!).

My family hopes you and yours find this day to be relaxing, enjoyable, and full of wonder gifts.

Well... Merry Xmas to you all!

Didn't mean to be a showstopper, but I can't remember a Christmas who left me with less
hope than this one. This Xmas actually left me scared to death, so pardon me

Because our American 'friends' have managed to piss off a billion muslims right here on our own
continent. Guess who is going to pay for that f*ckin right-wing mistake in the years to come?

Then they go on threatening us to leave us in the dust if we don't fork out for their sorry
Joint strike Fighter instead of the Eurofigter or the Swedish alternative. (=140 billion deal)

And they bark at us for not investing oil money in 'Wall Mart'? Those are the ones who kick your
ass out in the snow if you look like a memebr of a unioun of workers.

Then there's global warming.... Urk, sorry to be so pessimistic, but I'm beginning to feel
enough is enough, and it's all beginning to be a bit tiresome.

Maybe the time is here for us Northern Europeans to wake up, again :)

be positive!

global warming is great! no more rainy bad summer hollidays!

oil crisis are great! it's a natural solution to global warming!

hey, you won't get wet feet! me, in the netherlands... get it? nether?

oh well, we can make a lot of money on exporting our dyke technology, so we'll just turn NL into one giant underwater city

and THEN we make money on the tourism

meanwhile the middle east is burning up (too hot, and too many american khaki clad armed tourists) while the chinese and the russians fight over the remains of pakistan and india

and then, a few million years later, it's us dutch again, rising above the sea to take our rightfull throne!

well, that's positive thinking, kind of... can i pick up my suv now?

I think we Germans would be happy to join in. After all the only positive thing our last counselor did was refusing help in the Iraq (thanks goes to the French staying with us). Maybe we will be able to work as a bridge to the Eastern world, at least (with some exceptions) the 1.5 million turkish People living in Germany are realy peacefully and their food tastes awesome. If we can get them to accept human rights (especially those of women) they might be good partners.
On the global warming side I'm happy to live in a prity hilly city if the poles melt they might bring the beach right in front of my door^^

I sympathize.

Afraid this Christmas greeting thread might take a turn for the worse :(

Hope I'm wrong.
