Which Pure libraries also supported with PB 4.0 Linux?

Post by IceSoft »

Will be the PB 4.0 Linux Version support the full Windows versions of the Pure librayries?

E.g: Pure library: Module is this also in PB Linux?

Which Pure library is not in the Linux Version?
And which of this missing libraries should be/will be in before the Linux version is released?

PBOSL supports only pbosl_animsprite and pbosl_rfile in the moment

Old bugs good, new bugs bad! Updates are evil: might fix old bugs and introduce no new ones.

But which manual version is the actual one?
The windows manual which will be deliver before the Linux PB version is out? Or the Linux manual which will be update not earlier as the Linux release version is out?

Not easy to find the correct information which function will be support on PB 4.0 Linux and on PB 4.0 Windows.
Maybe a update of the windows manual is welcome after the linux release.
Another reason is: I cannot read the Linux manual on windows.

That is the reason for this threat!
No one can say which lib is working on Windows and on Linux too.

But this will not tell me which function will be supported of the library. Sorry but it is not so easy.

What i did was load up the PB4.0 windows examples and tested them under linux.

Trayicon commands works ^^
And most of the commands i really needed too, so i'm quite happy....

Only the 2D command set has some bugs....

Try and error is one way but not the right way.
When I write a window game/tool/application I want to know before I use a function this is working on Linux in the same manner as the Windows version it is doing.

I understand, but remember it's still a beta release under linux...

The PB team is going to iron the bugs in windows and then make the final clean up on linux...

Of course: Linux is in beta...
...and this thread should be a reminder for the PB-Team...to update the online manuals on other supported OS too (e.g. Windows)
